Come enjoy northern Nevada's fall beauty with the second annual Fall Colors Trail Half Marathon, Sunday, Oct. 25 at 8 a.m. at the Thomas Creek Trailhead.

The Fall Colors is quickly earning a reputation as one of Reno's most beautiful runs. Runners travel from the Thomas Creek Trailhead into the Mount Rose Wilderness and then to Dry Pond mountaintop and the picturesque White's Creek Canyon. The 13.1-mile course has a mix of single track, pine trees and aspens that are simply gorgeous this time of year.

Race details: Race begins at the Thomas Creek Trailhead Horse Trailer parking lot, 0.1 miles north of the Thomas Creek bridge on Timberline Lane. Turn right on Timberline Lane off the Mount Rose Highway.

Entry fee: $55, $45 through Sept. 25. RACE DAY REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE. Make checks payable to Fall Colors Marathon, and mail to Silver State Striders, P.O. Box 21171, Reno, NV 89515.

Awards: Awards will be given to men's and women's overall winners, plus first-place winners in the following divisions: 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over.

Aid stations: There will be three aid stations on the course. STill, it is advised that all runners carry at least one water bottle.
